Evans said in his blog as a child he was obsessed with the film "Peace Hotel" (1995), starring Chow Yun Fat. He never could find this film in the UK and only have an image poster below as well as a vague synopsis.Evans said that he liked the concept of an isolated building that offers protection to the criminals, but when Evans finally saw the film more than 15 years later "imaginary" Evans of the movie is totally different from what he saw. As he watched the film that he thought of the film is dark noirish with danger on every floor with the action confined to the interior space filled with shadows and fears. Evans also imagine would have more action, not only from the point of the heart is sweet and romantic as it appears in this film. After spending most of his time to "Going away", his desire to make a film that background 95% were in the room. Evans began watching lots of movies for inspiration, such as Assault on Precinct 13 (1976) and Die Hard (1988) to find the structure of the story, how to develop action scenes into the story as natural as possible.Evans said that always wanted to find a way to mix genres together, to bring more to the martial arts movie than just pure action. That's what most fans of the genre want to see action. With a rush of Death, Evans and Merantau Films production team plans to explore different shooting style and atmosphere of the film to allow tonal shifts and changes in the genre. The main concept of this film is the SWAT team are trapped inside the building with criminals around them who make a lot of choice for the production team to not only to explore the choreography of the action but also to provide a variety of sensations of tension that is created from this film, even the sensation of horror.
